Har gow are part of the dim sum repertoire. If you have ever had yum cha you will know how popular they are at restaurants. They are among the simplest but most delicious dumplings.
Please note, however, that wheat starch is not the same as plain flour. Wheat starch can be found at most Asian grocers, along with bamboo shoots. These dumplings freeze well. After filling, place in an airtight container with some baking paper between the layers and freeze. When lining the Varoma steamer with baking paper, be sure to add plenty of steam holes to prevent water from pooling under the dumplings.
