Pastel de Choclo

Pastel de Choclo is a savoury dish that—much to the disappointment of my non-Spanish-speaking family—doesn’t contain chocolate. It is a traditional Argentinian meal and, true to Argentina’s reputation, contains three sources of protein: beef,
chicken and eggs. All three components are cooked at once using the Varoma. The meat-loving boys in our house could
not have been happier. The dish is topped with a creamy corn layer from which it gets the name choclo, meaning corn.
It resembles creamed corn and is delicious served on its own.
