This is a great dish for vegetarians or those trying to include a few meat-free meals in the week. When preparing a vegetarian laksa it can be hard to find a true vegetarian paste, as most include shrimp paste, a fermented paste that gives laksas their pungent flavour. We have created that flavour in our paste with miso paste (which is also fermented), dried wakame and tamarind paste. This fragrant version still packs a punch with flavour and gets the thumbs-up from vegetarians and meat-lovers alike.
